Breaking the Silence
These are the stories that need to be heard. Real experiences from real people fighting for justice.

"I was walking home from work when they stopped me. No reason. No explanation. Just because of how I looked. That night changed everything..."
That night, they stopped me for no reason. I asked why — silence. Just eyes that said I didn’t belong. Fear hit me harder than the cold street air.
I was searched, questioned, treated like a suspect. The only thing I was guilty of was existing while Black in my own neighborhood.
Since then, I can’t walk home without feeling eyes on me. Justice isn’t about laws alone — it’s about dignity. That was stolen from me that night.

Marcus J.

"My son was only 16. He was coming home from basketball practice. They said he matched a description. He didn't match anything except being Black..."
He was just a kid, sneakers still squeaking from the court. They said he “fit a description.” The description? Black. That was enough for them.
They slammed him against a car, searched his bag, treated him like a criminal. His only crime was being young and Black in America.
I saw the light in his eyes dim. The joy of basketball, the innocence of childhood, replaced by fear. No parent should have to watch their child broken like that.
