Markavious "Mark" Rumph Jr., an 18-year-old who had recently earned his GED and planned to attend welding school, was last seen on May 6, 2026, getting into a black Nissan at a gas station. His family reported him missing the next day and searched for five days on their own, including through woods on Mother's Day in the rain. On May 11, family-organized search parties found his dismembered and burned remains in a wooded area on White Oak Church Road, with bullet wounds.

Homicide. Josiah Isaiah McKinney, 19, was arrested and charged with murder, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with physical evidence. Police said more arrests were expected.
