Qaadir & Naazir Lewis

Ruled Suicide

Age 19 · March 8, 2025 · Hiawassee, Georgia

Bell Mountain summit

/ What Happened

Qaadir and Naazir Lewis, 19-year-old identical twins from Lawrenceville, Georgia, were found dead by hikers at the summit of Bell Mountain on March 8, 2025. Both had gunshot wounds. A .45 caliber handgun was found between them. They were supposed to fly to Boston to visit friends the day before, but only Naazir went to the airport and never boarded the flight. They were found lying side by side on their backs with anime-style swords nearby. The GBI investigated and found phone records showing searches related to suicide, and ammunition purchased days before their deaths.

/ Official Ruling

Initially classified as murder-suicide, later changed to double suicide by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The GBI cited cellular location data, video evidence showing the brothers alone, internet search history, and ammunition purchase records.

/ What The Family Says

The family initially disputed the ruling, insisting the twins were not suicidal. Their father, recovering from a stroke, said his sons had plans for the future. Naazir's girlfriend said they were discussing marriage. The family hired attorneys and started a GoFundMe for a private investigator. In July 2026, the family publicly accepted the GBI's conclusion.
