EXPOSING THE PLAYBOOK OF OPPRESSION
In every corner of the world, there is an undeniable pattern—a fear of racial coexistence that fuels division, oppression, and systemic control. The powerful work overtime to ensure that marginalized groups remain at odds, distracted, and dis-empowered. But what happens when we stop fighting each other and start fighting back together?
The truth is, oppression has a playbook. It’s been used time and time again, shifting from one target to the next, adjusting its tactics but never changing its goal: maintaining control. And those who think they are safe today might just be next in line tomorrow.
We cannot afford to sit on the fence. We cannot treat symptoms while ignoring the disease. We must expose the system for what it is—and dismantle it together.
THE PLAYBOOK OF OPPRESSION (AND HOW WE BEAT IT)
1️⃣ Divide and Conquer The greatest weapon of the oppressor is keeping us divided. Black against Brown. Poor against poorer. Immigrant against native-born.🚨 Why? Because a united force is unstoppable. If we ever realized our shared struggle, we would become the greatest threat to systemic power.✅ The Solution: Cross-movement solidarity—when Black, Brown, Indigenous, Jewish, Puerto Rican, LGBTQ+, and all oppressed groups recognize that our fight is interconnected, we become stronger.
2️⃣ Demonization of Leaders & Movements From Malcolm X to Nelson Mandela, from MLK to modern-day activists, every leader who challenges injustice is labeled an “extremist,” a “terrorist,” or a “threat.” This pattern is not exclusive to Black leaders. Jewish activists who have fought against antisemitism and oppression, Puerto Rican independence leaders who resisted colonial rule, and Indigenous activists defending their land have all been vilified.🚨 Why? Because if they discredit the leader, they can kill the movement.✅ The Solution: Control our own narratives. Build independent media. Stand by our leaders instead of letting them be isolated and taken down.
3️⃣ Economic Suppression The system ensures that generational wealth is stripped from Black, Brown, Jewish, Puerto Rican, and Indigenous communities through redlining, wage gaps, mass incarceration, and predatory financial practices.🚨 Why? Because economic freedom is the foundation of real power.✅ The Solution: Support businesses owned by marginalized communities, teach financial literacy, and build cooperative wealth that can’t be easily taken away.
4️⃣ Legislative Manipulation Laws are written to appear fair while maintaining inequality. From voter suppression in the U.S. to economic policies that keep the Global South in poverty, the legal system has been designed to uphold the status quo.🚨 Why? Because people believe in the illusion of “justice,” even when the scales are rigged.✅ The Solution: Political awareness—know the laws, vote where it counts, demand reforms, and hold policymakers accountable.
5️⃣ Distraction & Fear-Mongering The media plays a psychological game, keeping people in fear of “the other” while distracting them from the real enemy.🚨 Why? Because fear keeps people from uniting, and distractions keep them from seeing the bigger picture.✅ The Solution: Education—unlearn the propaganda, expose misinformation, and spread truth within our communities.
THE CALL FOR TRUE CHANGE
If history has taught us anything, it’s that oppression is never satisfied with one target—it evolves, expands, and waits for its next victim.
