Tory Medley, a 39-year-old Black man from Milwaukee, was found hanging from a tree at Brookfield Hills Golf Course on November 13, 2025. He was hanging by a strap around his neck attached to a tree branch. The key unanswered question: Medley was a Milwaukee resident without a car and his family says they have no reason he would be at a suburban golf course late at night.

Suicide. The Brookfield Police Department said the preliminary investigation indicated suicide with no foul play. They said there were no signs of trauma beyond asphyxiation and noted he was experiencing mental health challenges in the days before.
